As a reflection of our regional presence and philosophy, Jay County Arts Council changed its name in late 2000 to Arts Place, Inc. Arts Place serves East Central Indiana and West Central Ohio through two community arts centers. Our larger facility is in Portland. In 2005 Arts Place opened a satellite center in St. Marys, Ohio.

More about Arts Place, Inc. Performances Arts Place, Inc. continues to provide a wide array of programming in both the visual and performing arts. Each year, Arts Place presents a series of performances featuring artists of national and international stature. Featured performers in recent years have included George Winston, the Baltimore Consort, and The Wailin' Jennys.  For more information on upcoming performances, click here. top of page Exhibits Arts Place also presents and curates exhibits throughout the year at its three galleries in the main facility, as well as in the gallery at the Collective Center in St. Marys, Ohio.  On odd-numbered years, we organize the Harvest Biennial Regional Exhibition, drawing artists from a five-state area. Other exhibits feature the works of one or two living artists. As your Region Five Partner Organization for the Indiana Arts Commission, Arts Place provides grants, technical assistance, information and referral, and cultural needs assessment to nurture and sustain the arts in East-Central Indiana.
