Beautiful Settings Make Beautiful Memories at Paramount Theatre Centre

The Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom is a beautiful centerpiece of the rebirth of arts and culture taking place in Anderson, Indiana. The Centre is home to the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, stage shows, ballets, plays and concerts.

The Paramount Theatre Centre opened August 20, 1929. The historic Paramount was designed by noted architect and visionary, John Eberson. During the 75 years of history, the Paramount has shown not only the greatest films, but also featured on its stage such renowned entertainers as Frank Sinatra, Nat "King" Cole, Roberta Peters, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Louie Armstrong, Woody Herman, Gene Autry and many more. In 1989, after sitting empty for five years, the Paramount Heritage Foundation bought the theatre from the city for $1. No expense was spared in the restoration to its 1929 brilliance. The Paramount Theatre re-opened in 1995.

Designed as a Spanish courtyard in 16th Century Spain, the Paramount Theatre auditorium offers outstanding acoustics and seating for up to 1,458 guests. The theater is home to one of three Grand Page Theater Pipe Organs remaining in their original theater installation in the United States.

Learn to Dance Like the Stars in the Hardacre Ballroom. The Paramount Theatre Ballroom was renovated in 1994 at a cost of $500,000 after being unused for nearly 44 years. The ballroom now flourishes as a premiere gathering place for weddings, receptions, banquets, proms and much more. Renamed in 2003, the 6,000 square foot Hardacre Ballroom is decorated in a 1920's art deco style and features the original hardwood floor.
