Arts Place
Launches Arts Connection Engine
Arts Place, Inc. is offering a unique online arts
resource through its website
IndianaArts.org.
The website is Indiana’s only statewide arts and
cultural portal. Five other arts organizations have
joined with Arts Place as partners in using this
service.
The
ArtsConnection Engine (ACE),
a web service of IndianaArts.org, provides a
centralized online system that brings together
artists, arts organizations, arts patrons,
arts-related businesses, the media, and sponsors.
The ACE service enables partnering websites to
provide visitors with customized, searchable local
and statewide arts-related content including an
events calendar, classified listings, and
directories of artists, arts organizations, and
related businesses.
“This is a unique program with great potential to
enhance our online presence,” said Lewis C. Ricci,
IAC executive director. “ACE will enable the IAC,
and participating partners, to better support our
arts and cultural communities and at the same time
promote the wealth of arts and cultural
opportunities in our state. It is another
opportunity to further unite the arts community in
Indiana.”
One ACE partner,
Whitewater Valley Arts Fusion, enlists the ACE
service as a way to enhance their mission: to
present and promote the visual and performing arts
in the Whitewater Valley. Data content from
IndianaArts.org is filtered onto its web site with
Richmond and Wayne County artists, organizations,
and events at the forefront. Visitors can also view
listings from across Indiana with just one click of
the mouse.
The ACE system formally launched in late April. To
